I remember a time with the Lord where something was stressful and I was worried about an outcome and how something was playing out.  The Lord said to be “Darren anxiety is a sin”.

A very simple statement but something that really went deep into me. What I now understand the Lord was saying to me is that if I am His son and really believe in what He tells me, then how can I have anxiety as this goes against His nature and who He is to us.

Are you anxious about something at the moment? Anxious about what is happening in the world, anxious about health, about finances or about family for instance.  This anxiety is a position of sin and it is not where the Lord would have us.

Maybe you are stepping into some big challenges, or in this season particularly being asked to take some Kingdom territory. In doing this we are not to be anxious after all who is our Father and does He not know exactly where we are.

He gives us a lot of scripture in this area.

Luke 12:29  “And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind.

Philippians 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Matthew 6:27-34 “Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 “and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 “Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 “For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

How easy it is today to put ourselves into a position of anxiety.  Are you anxious about something at the moment?

The Lord wanted me to understand in this simple Kingdom principal that anxiety is a sin and that anxiety is not something He wanted me to hold onto as it would impact the way things occurred in the Spirit and the way His blessings could flow.

Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Anxiety is carnal and when we are in Him we should be above this. In those moments and times when we feel the warfare around us or we feel the carnal pressure of the world there is only one place that true peace comes from and that is the Lord.  If for a brief time your whole focus can be on the Lord during these times the cares of this world do melt away. Rather than just for a brief time I believe the Lord is saying we can be in this state of being with Him all the time therefore anxiety doesn’t exist. We are in the transformed position.

We all know this verse but it is one I rest in when the war is on.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

How often have those moments of anxiety or war, or testing led to a position far better.  Why because He uses all things.

1 Peter 5:10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.

He can fix things in a minute

2 Kings 7:6-7 For the Lord had caused the army of the Syrians to hear the noise of chariots and the noise of horses–the noise of a great army; so they said to one another, “Look, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of the Egyptians to attack us!” 7 Therefore they arose and fled at twilight, and left the camp intact–their tents, their horses, and their donkeys–and they fled for their lives.

We know in this story that the Israelites went from being under siege and starving to a position of abundance in a small moment of time.  Their anxiety was gone in a minute because God was in control and had the solution. I wonder what the position of the Israelites was leading up to this.  I suspect their heart position was in the Lord and they were on their knees.  When we feel anxiety coming on then this strategy of having our heart in Him and being on our knees has to be right up there.

You have no anxiety and peace because you are fully following the Lord

Joshua 14:9 “So Moses swore on that day, saying, ‘Surely the land where your foot has trodden shall be your inheritance and your children’s forever, because you have wholly followed the LORD my God.’

When we are fully in the Lord then His plan will be right there.  It can be implemented because we have got beyond our own free will plans, our focus on ourselves and our anxiety (to name a few things) and we are truly focussed on the Lord.  You will inherit what He has for you to inherit when you are in this position.  Anxiety has no place in this position in the Lord because we don’t allow it.

We may have suffering and patience but not anxiety.

Hebrews 6:11-12 And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

James 5:10 My brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, as an example of suffering and patience. 11 Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord–that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful. …..13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms.

What is our position when we are suffering or under pressure?  We need to avoid being anxious and sinning in this state even though it may take a while for this pressure to move on.  Remember the Kingdom we are in.  Remember those examples in the bible of children who went through the trials.  They were real people like you and I and the Lord tells us we can inherit the promises.

Luke 12:29 “And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. 30 “For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things.

Trust in The Lord

Jerimiah 17 7-8 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord.
8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit. Blessed is the man who trusts in The Lord and whose hope is in The Lord.

He will not fear and will not be anxious.

Let us Walk in His ways

Deuteronomy 11-22 “For if you carefully keep all these commandments which I command you to do—to love the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways, and to hold fast to Him—

Colossians 2-6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,

Yes let me do this walk in all your ways Lord.

Zechariah 3:6-7 Then the Angel of the LORD admonished Joshua, saying,
7 “Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘If you will walk in My ways, And if you will keep My command, Then you shall also judge My house, And likewise have charge of My courts; I will give you places to walk Among these who stand here.

I will be anxious for nothing as I walk in His ways.

So today, this week when you feel anxious about something remember that is a sin position and the Lord gives us an alternative.  Look to Him, walk in His ways and trust Him as He has got you.

I get this word as I finish.

“My children times are difficult for many but do you not know that I am above this and I have you.  No one shall suffer for the kingdoms sake and not feel My blessing.  I will bring much change in this time for my children and times will be more difficult for some but no one shall be put in a place they can’t handle if they are in Me.  I am bringing about My business, My Kingdom and what I desire to see on the earth so look to Me and know that I have you and I wish to bless you now.  It is good and I love you so hold onto Me and look for the change.”
