The Lord gave me one of those vivid dreams last week where I knew He was reminding me of something. The dream involved driving a jeep on a road but then the front left tyre came off the jeep and it veered off the road and then ended up stranded not being able to go anywhere.
I knew immediately what He was telling me as I had been getting the same message from him for a couple of weeks. The message was to stay on track and not veer to the left or right. He was telling me at this point in His timeline in particular it was essential to stay on track and keep pushing ahead. With what the Lord is about to do He wants us moving forward ready to move into what He is releasing.
The enemy would throw anything at us to get us off track now.
Is there side-tracking happening in your life right now?
We are now starting to possess the land and the promises we have been given over the years, and in some cases the groundwork laid by our ancestors. This is the season, but it requires discipline and for us to listen to the Lord.
Deuteronomy 5:31-33
31 ‘But as for you, stand here by Me, and I will speak to you all the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments which you shall teach them, that they may observe them in the land which I am giving them to possess.’ 32 “Therefore you shall be careful to do as the LORD your God has commanded you; you shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left. 33 “You shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess.
These instructions back then are especially applicable now in this season and this is what the Lord is highlighting to me.
I have in the past got excited about other things and gone and done them BUT He is telling me right now to stay absolutely on track and focus for what He has me doing. The Lord knows if I get side-tracked, I will miss the mark. Many times the Lord has told me that I have missed the mark and that I am to go back and readdress something to make sure I hit the mark. He would have me accomplish all that He has written now. He would have you accomplish all He has written about you now.
How many cases do we see in the bible where this didn’t happen and people get side-tracked and therefore end up missing the mark for their lives and the kingdom?
2 Chronicles 18:2-3
2 After some years he went down to visit Ahab in Samaria; and Ahab killed sheep and oxen in abundance for him and the people who were with him, and persuaded him to go up with him to Ramoth Gilead. 3 So Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, “Will you go with me against Ramoth Gilead?” And he answered him, “I am as you are, and my people as your people; we will be with you in the war.”
What a disaster this proved to be. Did Jehoshaphat seek the Lord before doing this? Jehoshaphat was in a good place with the Lord prior to this. He got comfortable and then he gets side-tracked. He even got a word from a true prophet of the Lord which was saying no to going to this war but he still went ahead. What were some of the lessons from getting side tracked.
Danger – He ended up in a dangerous position where He could have lost His life because he wasn’t on track.
Don’t fight another man’s war – The Lord would have us focus on what he has us doing at the moment. Don’t get envious, prideful, and jealous but instead be about His business for us. That maybe with other people but pray and be clear on this.
Sphere of influence – Don’t step out of your sphere of influence at the moment as the enemy is looking to take players out of battle right now so they can’t be effective in what is being released.
1 Thessalonians 4:10-12
10 and indeed you do so toward all the brethren who are in all Macedonia. But we urge you, brethren, that you increase more and more; 11 that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you, 12 that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing.
We are blessed when we don’t look left or right but stay on track. Paul was encouraging us in this. A quiet life in this context is not a life of not doing anything but it is a life of staying on the track He has for you. If you don’t know the track you are supposed to be on pray into it. In this time He will give you revelation as He wants you being fruitful and ready for His release. The Lord would have all His children ready now as not enough of His children are ready.
Get the right advice to stay on track
1 Kings 12:6
Then King Rehoboam consulted the elders who stood before his father Solomon while he still lived, and he said, “How do you advise me to answer these people?”
We all know this story where Rehoboam didn’t listen to the right advice and as a result it was a disaster for his life and the kingdom. Listening to the wrong people at the moment could leave you in the stranded jeep. Seek the Lord and He will confirm the track for you now. If something new comes up, then pray into it and make sure it is of Him. He may be answering you by realigning you to the correct track or alternatively the enemy may be trying to take you off track. Be close to the Lord and He will show you.
Rehoboam should have listened to the elders wisdom, the lords anointed and appointed not the peoples appointed.
Now more than ever it is important to stay on track for your descendants, for your childrens’ inheritance. Don’t pass down issues for generations by making the wrong choices as Rehoboam did.
We need to obey to stay on track – listen to the Lord.
1 Kings 12:24
‘Thus says the LORD: “You shall not go up nor fight against your brethren the children of Israel. Let every man return to his house, for this thing is from Me.” ’ ” Therefore they obeyed the word of the LORD, and turned back, according to the word of the LORD.
They listened to the word of the Lord!
Remember the prophet who brought the word from the Lord but didn’t obey the Lords instruction. He was killed by the lion.
1 Kings 13:26
Now when the prophet who had brought him back from the way heard it, he said, “It is the man of God who was disobedient to the word of the LORD. Therefore the LORD has delivered him to the lion, which has torn him and killed him, according to the word of the LORD which He spoke to him.”
In this time make sure you are obeying the Lords commandments not mans. Be clear what you are hearing as the enemy seeks to destroy. Don’t be killed by the lion because you were led off track.
We are coming into an amazing season and it has started for some. Let us stay on track to be in a position to do all that we can for the Lords kingdom and let’s not get side-tracked and taken out of the game so we miss the blessing. How often have we been side-tracked in our life and missed the blessing or ended up in the wrong place. The Lord has taught some of us through those lessons and He would have us remember this now.
Stay on track.
I get these words as I finish.
“Time is short, the blessing are pouring and My angels have departed to disburse. I have a wonderful time ahead for those who are aligned with Me, for those who have learned the lessons and for those who would walk with Me. I wish to see My kingdom fire come upon many and for the power to flow and for the world to notice now. I seek many lost children and I seek a righteous generation, so be obedient and listen to My words as I pour down now on this generation like has never been done before. I am ready, are you?”
