How frustrated do we get when things don’t go at the pace we want them to happen at or it seems that we have been waiting forever for some of Gods promises and words to come into being?  We have all experienced this and it can be very difficult for us to cope with.  We know that we have a purpose, a destiny, a calling yet it just doesn’t seem to happen.

The Lord has been reminding me of the relevance of timetables recently particularly as I see a lot of His words and plans coming to fruition or commencing in my life.  We also see in the world around us at the moment tremendous change and events occurring.

The Lord is reminding me that regardless of what is happening around us His plans for us haven’t changed and it His timeline.
2 Peter 3:8-9

But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

The Lord is outside time and He can bring everything into His timeline whenever He wants.  He isn’t the issue when it comes to time.  So, if He isn’t the issue in our timeline then what is the issue?

Us!

In His timeline He will work around us.  He will give us every chance to get in line with his Plan for us. He will give us every chance to get our lives right to align with what He has been teaching us. BUT there comes a point when He steps in and does His thing. He wants us to get to a place of righteousness and fullness in Him in our own steam (with His guidance) so that we can enjoy the full benefits of the Kingdom and what He has for us. When He steps into our life to get His timeline on track, I wonder what we lose because we haven’t done all our part to get on plan and timeline? Do we get all we could have here and now in His Kingdom? Do we walk in full power?

Getting to the right place – Our Role

Proverbs 24:3-4

Through wisdom a house is built, And by understanding it is established; 4 By knowledge the rooms are filled With all precious and pleasant riches.

Wisdom doesn’t happen instantaneously.  The house is built over time.  If the Lord gave us everything at certain points in our life, we couldn’t have coped with it and we couldn’t have carried it.  It would have been like giving the one talent to the guy who put it in the ground and got no return on it. His timeline for us depends on us getting through the sanctification process and being perfected.  He will release stuff along the way as we grow but for the big words and calling to be delivered over our life and for our full impact in the Kingdom it happens over His timeline not ours as we come into line.

Galatians 2:1

Then after fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and also took Titus with me.

Paul had to do the time in a place to complete the calling on His life. God wouldn’t release Him to everything until the time was done and God could see that Paul had moved to a new place in Him.

We may want it today, but the Lord takes the time that is necessary for us to get there and we need to find peace in that which can be difficult. If we don’t take the time and let Him do the work then I wonder if we achieve everything we could have while here on the earth? He doesn’t want you worrying about how much time things are taking or how old you are getting.  He wants you to get to the place of perfection in 1 Peter 5:10 and Romans 12:2 and then he can do in one day in His timetable that which may take a 1000 years in the natural if we try to do it. He just wants us to be in a heart and mind position that enables sanctification to occur in us.

1 Peter 5:10

But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.

Romans 12:2

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Do not be tied down to this world’s measurement of time. It is His Kingdom
Galatians 4:9-10

But now after you have known God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire again to be in bondage? 10 You observe days and months and seasons and years.

It Takes Time

Hebrews 5:13-14

For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. 14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Of Full age – Gods appointed time not beforehand. Perfected (those by reason of use). You can’t shortcut Gods time and what He is doing. It is for our protection that He wants us of full age to step into all our calling and His kingdom.

Hebrews 6:11-12

And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, 12 that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

So our faith walk requires us to stand through time (no matter how long it seems to be taking) knowing that Gods plan is best as he perfects us for His kingdom purpose.

Hebrews 6:15

And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

You will obtain the promise BUT there is responsibility and a part to play on our part.

Ephesians 1:9-10

having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, 10 that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth–in Him.

It takes time- the fullness of time. No shortcuts on our part as it won’t stick.  Remember when you get to the right place He can do it in one day and redeem anytime that you feel may have been lost.  In a number of cases it is our “position” that causes delay in natural time.

His time not ours – Be ready

Luke 12:37-38

“Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them. 38 “And if he should come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.

No matter how long in the natural we seem to be waiting remember it is his timeline

Luke 12:40

“Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”

Be ready Have your house in order and be in a place of righteousness. This is a point in His timeline to have your house in order.  Don’t hesitate but inherit the promises.  You won’t inherit all you can if you don’t have order in your life and around you.  Make the hard calls and do the clean up work now but don’t be sluggish in it.

He is God and He will do His timeline but we have an expectation on us to have done all we can to be ready for Him when He wants to work in power in our lives.

He has His timetable

Ezekiel 12:28

“Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “None of My words will be postponed any more, but the word which I speak will be done,” says the Lord GOD.’ ”

This is the season for words to be performed that you may have been sitting on for a long time.

God is not shaken by the events of the world at this time.  His timetable will still be completed and His promises for this time will still be delivered.

We need to be ready at this time more than ever before, in our own walk and to not lose faith or to doubt as we want to receive all that He is releasing in this wonderful time on His timeline.

His words are

“I am ready to bless those who have walked faithfully and have strengthened themselves to stand in all times.  My blessings will pour out now like never before so stand in faith and receive what I release.  Those of you who are ready will receive all that I release. Those who are not ready, get ready as it is not too late as I wish to bless all my children at this time but I need you to do your part as I have asked you to do through my word.  Be faithful be strong and be ready for all that I do in your life now.  I look for the chosen to step in.”
