THE FINAL COUNTDOWN

My son used to love this song when he was young (still does!) and it drove his sister mad but this is the season we are in.

This is a period of time where Gods children are feeling something is happening something is changing. You can feel it in the Spirit and around you.

I am seeing now when you walk into groups of Christians who are hungry whether in churches or home groups or families they are feeling a change and the anticipation is growing. The atmosphere has changed.

What is this period?  I believe it is like a final countdown to the release of God’s fire on the earth.  The baptism of fire is going to be poured down on us and we are going to be taken to a new level of anointing, a level of unprecedented blessings. A period of His fire shining through us.

But first He is doing His final bit of preparation in each of us before He can pour this fire out on us.

For those of you who have been sitting on His words and prophesies for years, pushing hard into Him for years, hungering for more the answers are coming as He pours out.

 

So what does the final countdown look like?

First of all it is a relatively short period in His time frame so your patience is about to be rewarded. So persevere through what he is doing in you right now.

For different people this countdown period involves different things

 

It is a period of Preparation

2 Corinthians 5:4

For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life.

5 Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.

He is in the final touches of preparation. Remember He is a God who loves us and He doesn’t want to put us in a place we can’t handle so he is making sure you can carry the fire.

This final countdown may be very hard as He works in you. He may have tried to address things in you gently over the years but they still persist because you haven’t learnt or changed.  So in this final countdown where you have been pushing in He knows these things have to be dealt with in you so it could be a very hard adjustment, trial or transformation He puts you through.  He wants certain things out of you and the time period is short so He adjusts us. Ouch I can see this in my life.

Let me say you may not like this and you may not understand why it has to be this way but part of this period of time is the Lord saying “do you really trust Me to do what is right for you now?”  I have been shaken to the core in the last few months but I now see I have had a foundation improvement that is undeniably from the Lord as He puts me in the place ready to receive His pouring out.

So no matter how bad the experience at the moment embrace it as part of His final preparation for what He is about to pour out on you.  Look deeply and say Lord what is this thing you are trying to transform in me.

 

2 Peter 3:13

Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

14 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless;

 

He corrects us

Right now be prepared to be corrected.

Proverbs 29:15

The rod and rebuke give wisdom,

But a child left to himself brings shame to his mother.

 

I have been walking in the calling He has given me.  But I have pushed ahead trying to get things done in my own strength and timing.  In the last few weeks He has said to me “don’t get side tracked as this has cost you all your life.”  He gave me some very sharp words of correction as He wants me in the right place now and doing the right things now for the season ahead. The Lord corrected through His word as He countdowns.

Be excited when this happens and if you aren’t excited it is probably your pride getting in the way when He corrects.  I can vouch for this happening.

 

Proverbs 29:19

A servant will not be corrected by mere words;

For though he understands, he will not respond.

In this countdown He is using actions to get the required correction to be done.  Time is very short so if you are seriously seeking Him then He will act.  He wants the chosen stepping up.

 

He wants us to be ready.

He wants us to be like the five wise virgins who had their lamps full of oil and not like the five foolish virgins who had no oil in their lamp.

This is not the time to be side tracked in the world (this doesn’t mean you don’t walk in your calling) but this is the time to make sure you are absolutely focussed on Him and on His plan.

 

Present yourself

Romans 6:12

Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.

13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.

Present ourselves like the five wise virgins as being alive from the dead and no longer like the old self.

Romans 6:19

I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.

 

Present yourself in His image.

 

New man (old things gone)

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

This is the transformation and this is the place He wants you in now.

This requires you to walk away from the past and those things that are holding you back.  He wants you clean, prepared and ready.

 

Hebrews 10:38

Now the just shall live by faith;

But if anyone draws back,

My soul has no pleasure in him.”

When you walk away from the old man and the past into what He is now going to release you can’t look back.  Don’t be like Lot’s wife who looked back and turned into salt. She paid the price for her disobedience and trying to look at the past. Recognise the new season you are moving into.

 

Luke 9:62

62 But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”

With His pouring out He wants us walking in His Kingdom.  You step into this and you keep going forward and then watch Him constantly refill your lamp.

 

Philippians 3:13

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,

 

He wants us Surrendered

Although we walks as sons of God, we walk knowing He builds the house.  The more you walk knowing this and having this as your foundation the more He can fill you up.  Why because the lamp has been emptied of the old oil being you, and that leaves Him all of the space in you to be filled up by Him.

I really feel deeply He is saying right now empty yourself and trust Him.  This is a moment in time like never before to do this.

 

 

There is no doubt in my mind that we will look back at this period in time as being one of the most exciting as we understand what He has done.  Embrace it. Seek it. Step into it.

 

I feel the Lord saying

“Are you ready? For I am going to pour out like never before and My children will walk with the fire in them.  They will heal, they will bless, they will touch all around them and many shall come to Me as this is what I desire.  Let no one be untouched and let all be accountable for what I am releasing.  Seek Me and hunger for Me as I come in the night and I search for those that want this and are crying out to Me.  Time is short so seek Me now and you will find I will deliver beyond anything you have ever experienced or imagined. The season is upon us and it is now. I love all my children and wish them to enjoy all of Me. So seek.”
