The Lord has been bringing me back to some of the foundation and basics of what He is doing in my life.  The reason He has been doing this as in some cases I haven’t got it together in these areas.

Over the last month or two the Lord has been showing me clearly this principal that unless He builds the house then it is on sand and it is nothing.  He has not just been showing me but making sure that this is established deep inside of my heart.

Psalm 127:1

A Song of Ascents. Of Solomon.

Unless the LORD builds the house,

They labour in vain who build it;

Unless the LORD guards the city,

The watchman stays awake in vain.

There have been many times in my life where I have tried to do things only to see them pulled down.  I shared a while ago the story He gave me about the three little pigs (refer to an earlier teaching).  I had built the straw and the stick house and these were blown down.  My view was that each time I built one of these houses they were getting better and that I was finally onto building the brick house as I had been learning the lessons and His wisdom.  This brick house can’t get pulled down.  Now the brick house is being built by Him not me as even when a brick is established, through wisdom or a lesson, it is from Him.  He has shown me this brick house is the one He is building now and it will not get blown down. Previously I had thought I had to build the brick house but now I know it won’t get built if I do it.  He is making this clear for me.

My previous blog on the tension highlights that I still need to step out and do the things in His will but I do it knowing he is doing it.

Psalm 100:3

Know that the LORD, He is God;

It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;

He is building my brick house and I know in my heart now it is Him not me.

Ecclesiastes 3:14

I know that whatever God does,

It shall be forever.

Nothing can be added to it,

And nothing taken from it.

God does it, that men should fear before Him.

As God builds my house it is forever.  It is for generations to come not just me.  If He has built the house and it is for Kingdom purposes then He will use it for those purposes if I allow that in my life.

Ecclesiastes 7:29

Truly, this only I have found:

That God made man upright,

But they have sought out many schemes.”

When we seek out schemes it is not God building the house.  We may think we are clever and smart but what foundation are we building on.  He sees everything and won’t let these things stand.  How can the Lord allow a house to be built on this type of foundation?

John 4:12

“Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, as well as his sons and his livestock?”

13 Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again,

14 “but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

The house being built is the Lord’s provision not ours.  Any house established by us with our schemes and inputs will be like the water that will need to be drunk again and again.  God’s house built by Him will be external for time to come.  When we go home to be with the Lord let our house not be wood, hay and stubble but let it be a house made by Him established forever.  Let our house on earth here be a house established for our children and our children’s children.

Ecclesiastes 6:10

Whatever one is, he has been named already,

For it is known he is man;

And he cannot contend with Him who is mightier than he.

God knows the house He has built for us.   He is just looking for us to accept it and dwell there.  He has been taking me to a place of accepting that and not trying to build this myself.  I have been named already.

2 Samuel 7:25

“Now, O LORD God, the word which You have spoken concerning Your servant and concerning his house, establish it forever and do as You have said.

26 “So let Your name be magnified forever, saying, ‘The LORD of hosts is the God over Israel.’ And let the house of Your servant David be established before You.

27 “For You, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, have revealed this to Your servant, saying, ‘I will build you a house.’ Therefore Your servant has found it in his heart to pray this prayer to You.

28 “And now, O Lord GOD, You are God, and Your words are true, and You have promised this goodness to Your servant.

29 “Now therefore, let it please You to bless the house of Your servant, that it may continue before You forever; for You, O Lord GOD, have spoken it, and with Your blessing let the house of Your servant be blessed forever.”

Let’s exchange the name of David for your name here and let your house be established and blessed forever.

He establishes it. We are obedient we step out in faith and we step out in His will, but he establishes it. Don’t misunderstand me here. We are not just to sit back and do nothing. We need to understand that when we do things we do them knowing it is Him building not us.  His glory not ours.

Our house becomes one with Him.

Acts 17:24

“God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands.

25 “Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things.

26 “And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings,

Again and again we are told God does it, He makes it.  He has given us boundaries, ancient landmarks so be sure to stay inside those as this is the house He has for you.  Don’t step into someone else’s ancient landmarks as He won’t bless that.  He has a unique house for you.

Luke 11:17

But He, knowing their thoughts, said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls.

Don’t try and establish a house that is not His as it won’t stand.  Dwell in His house for you.

This is a year where he is completing houses and bringing together the components for a number of us.

As I type these words I get the following message

“I wish to bless my children and establish them forever.  Many have struggled in their own strength trying to accomplish things and build their house.  I will do it this year for them if they will lay themselves down, step out knowing I am doing a great work in the kingdom at the moment.  Be ready, be open and be established.

(I see a vision of a circle three quarters finished with an arrow at the end pointing towards completion)

I get the words I will complete it.”

Many of you have been trying to get the house established, get things done in your own strength.  He is saying here lay it down and He will do it for you.  This is the season.

Psalm 23:6

And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Psalm 27:4

One thing I have desired of the LORD, That I will seek;

That I may dwell in the house of The Lord all the days of my life,

To behold the beauty of the LORD,

And to enquire in His temple.

You build my house Lord and let me behold your beauty.
