We have been given a set of rules a position to be in our Lord for our own protection. He wants us to reflect Him in the way we walk and who we are. Luke 17:21 tells us the Kingdom Of God is within us therefore why shouldn’t we work to the same rules He works to.
I have had some recent examples where He has been highlighting to me to get some basic things right in my life. He calls them a rule of nature which applies and when I don’t get them right then the reaper has the legal right to rip into my life in these areas.
Matthew 5:34
“But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God’s throne;
35 “nor by the earth, for it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
36 “Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black.
37 “But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.
The Lord outlined to me a few weeks ago that I had not been correct in the way that I had been handling some situations. He said to me there is a basic rule of nature that has to be followed. If you say to someone you are going to do something then you need to do it, or if you say to someone that you are going to pay them then you need to pay them.
He said to me now you may not be in a position to do what you have said you would do but you just can’t ignore it when you find yourself in this position. You may be in a position where you can’t pay a bill or you can’t complete a job but you just can’t ignore it. The reason being that when you ignore it or break what you have said you would do a basic law of nature is violated. He told me I had done this through my life at times and that I needed to change my ways as he wanted to release me into bigger blessings now but I wouldn’t handle them if I didn’t learn to follow this basic rule of nature. He told me the issues would just get bigger as the blessing got bigger and he didn’t want me hurt with bigger consequences.
He said if you can’t complete work promised, or you can’t pay a bill, or you are not meeting something you are obliged to do then you need to get on the phone, the email and have communication with those people and get agreement with them to clean the situation up. His words were if you don’t then the enemy will use these situations of not meeting your word or commitments and have a field day. The enemy won’t stop coming at you in this area and the intensity of situations will get worse. The Lord told me he had allowed a week of situations to arise in my face as He really wanted me to understand that this was real in the spiritual and I had to address it and I had to treat it as a basic rule of nature.
“But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.
Are there things in your life where you know you have an obligation, a promise to meet, a bill to pay and you are ignoring them. If you are then I ask that you address them as you are bringing a curse on yourself and potentially on others.
Consequences
Matthew 6:14
“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
15 “But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
If you don’t do what you have said or you don’t meet the basics then how can we expect the same the other way? There are so many two way situations the Lord outlines to us in scripture.
Now you may be in absolutely no place to be able to meet or settle the issue but that doesn’t stop you acknowledging it with the person and reaching some common ground. You may have a large debt that you can’t meet but you may be able to start paying a small amount a week towards it. Communicate and address it and the Lord will bless you.
Mathew 6:24
“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.
The rule here is we serve God therefore let’s not be fearful of man and mammon. Let’s do the right thing.
Matthew 7:1
“Judge not, that you be not judged.
2 “For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.
3 “And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?
Again don’t do something to others that breaks these basic rules. Where we break these rules there are consequences.
Where we have broken the rules then repent first and then you are clean and the consequences can be managed better.
Matthew 7:12
“Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
The rule of nature here is very clear.
Offense
One consequence of breaking rules and not doing what we have said we would do or not paying our bills and breaking this rule of nature is that we can create offense with the person or people we are dealing with. This offense in turn lets them curse us and the enemy can use that curse because we have broken the rule. The Lord has told me constantly not to create offense. It is better not to enter something than create the opportunity for offense.
Luke 17:1
Then He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come!
2 “It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.
A pretty clear message. When we don’t meet what we need to meet we open this opportunity up.
Matthew 17:25
He said, “Yes.” And when he had come into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth take customs or taxes, from their sons or from strangers?”
26 Peter said to Him, “From strangers.” Jesus said to him, “Then the sons are free.
27 “Nevertheless, lest we offend them, go to the sea, cast in a hook, and take the fish that comes up first. And when you have opened its mouth, you will find a piece of money take that and give it to them for Me and you.”
Jesus is saying follow the rules so that offense is not given. Don’t give on earth the opportunity for the enemy to use offense and curses.
Also when we do not do the right thing we damage the people we are dealing with as they enter sin as a result of our actions. Because we didn’t do what we said then they curse and are offended and sin is created in their lives.
Matthew 18:7
“Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!
8 “If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the everlasting fire.
9 “And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire.
Woe to us if we give the opportunity for that offense to come. I think this is even worse when we do this with non-Christians. Don’t offend the little children.
This message has been very clear to me and I am looking at the areas in my life where I haven’t followed these basic rules of nature and fixing them.
I encourage you to look at your situation and no matter how difficult it may seem go and address the situation. Even if you can’t do the work, the promise, pay the bill at least acknowledge that with the person so that you can be blessed in the situation and not have the enemy use it against us.
The Lord loves us so much and He wants us to get this stuff right as He wants us to walk in the blessings and the power we are meant to walk in here. Let’s do our part of this by getting the basics right. Let us walk on earth as it is in heaven.
Very beautiful reminders. Sometimes kasi may mga promises din ako in life na hindi ko siya natutupad pero ina address ko naman din yung promises na yun and some mistakes na if you promise to that person, then make it. That’s why. Thank you for these very wonderful reminders of mine in everyday lives na magagamit ko. GODBLESS 🙏
