Do you ever have those bad night’s sleep where you wake up in the morning and you are not in a good state?

Or you have those night’s sleep where you go to bed and the burdens of the world are on your shoulders and things seem impossible.  Yet you wake up in the morning and things seem so much better and easier.

What happens to us in the night in those 6-8 hours of sleep you get?

God happens!

He tells us through scripture that He works with us in the night.

He has been showing me this over the last few weeks.  Through scripture and through experience how He helps us in the night.

WHAT DOES HE DO DURING THE NIGHT?

Psalm 16:7

I will bless the LORD who has given me counsel; My heart also instructs me in the night seasons

He comes in at night and he works in us and instructs us.  He see the things that need changing, correcting or improving and He works on those.

Psalm 17:3

You have tested my heart; You have visited me in the night; You have tried me and have found nothing; I have purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.

I have shared this vision before but I share it again

Vision I received during worship a while ago

I saw a blanket coming down (night time getting ready for sleep). Then there was a moving of people around getting then ready and putting them in the right place.

Sword holder being emptied out as he gets people ready and they take the swords. They are prepared.

I see the Lord then going around at night while people are sleeping and opening a flap to their heart and Him looking at it. He quickens Psalm 17 v3 to my mind: You have tested my heart; You have visited me in the night; You have tried me and found nothing; …

The Lord is then cuddling everyone, some were put down to rest again. Others were asked to stand and He further fitted them out with what they needed for the walk ahead.

I saw then going out as spearheads of light around the globe (like superman)

I then saw Him going each night and checking the heart of the remaining sleepers. To see if they were ready. Then they joined the ones of light if they were.

HE IS CHECKING THE STATUS OF THE TEMPLE AS HE WANTS TO RELEASE MORE AND TAKE YOU TO A NEW LEVEL

He does this in the night time.

Psalm 19:2

Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge.

He wants to reveal to us at night time.  It is His desire for us to know more and when we are at peace and resting He can do this.

Isaiah 26:9

With my soul I have desired You in the night,

Yes, by my spirit within me I will seek You early;

Our soul seeks him at night it is something supernatural that is going on.  When he has done His work at night we can then clearly seek Him early before the world takes over and then we see how he shares with us in those times.

How I love those times in the morning with Him. (After a good night’s sleep!)

One thing I know to do at night when going to bed is to repent for all things of the day.  I want to go to bed as clean as I can be so that He can do the things above that He wants to do to us during the night.

I wonder with those bad nights of sleep where we were when we went to sleep.  Were we repentant and clean or were we sinning in our minds with anxiety and worry.

WHAT IS THE RESULT OF HIS WORK IN THE NIGHT?

Psalm 30:5

…Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.

A healing comes to us in the night so that we can be so joyful in the morning.

He uses our sleep at night to bring us to Him. Give us a sweet sleep Lord.

Hosea 6:3

Let us know,

Let us pursue the knowledge of the LORD.

His going forth is established as the morning;

He will come to us like the rain,

Like the latter and former rain to the earth

The morning is established. Why? Because he has done the work in the night so when we awake we are ready.

Romans 8:27

Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

When does He search our hearts?  He searches as night and he knows the mind of the Spirit.

Our dreams and what occurs at night is done through the testing and results.

WHAT IS THE GOAL?

Psalm 17:15

As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness.

This is one of my memory verses.  I want to be one with Him.  I want to have so aligned with Him that I awake in His likeness.  What a position to start each day in.

2 Peter 1:17-19

For He received from God the Father honour and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

18 And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain.

19 And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts;

In the darkness we have His light.  Night is dark and He works His wonders in us in the darkness of night so that the light of day reflects Him.  What a joy to have the morning star rising in our heart.

In the night when it is dark He comes in and heals us with His light.

Do we really understand what is going on at night?  We don’t need to. We just need to know He is a loving God who does this work in us at night.

Just go to bed having repented, being cleansed and being expectant of what He will do in you.

I was just reading this above verse in 2 Peter 1 today.  I have spent nine weeks reading the bible from the beginning to the end (which I haven’t done for a while) and this morning I hit this chapter and verse.

It was like the Lord was giving me a verse to remind me of this topic and the importance of it.

1 John 1:5

This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.
