I asked the Lord why do I feel like I am still struggling to get breakthrough on my prayer?

I bring it to the courtroom and I lay out the arguments and I rebuke the lies and I state the words You have spoken over me.

I come to the courtroom cleansed having repented for the sins, trespasses and inequities that I know about and the ones I don’t know about.

I asked the Lord is what I am doing in the courtroom being done the right way when I bring my case.

His answer

“There is a better way’

Now that answer will always raise my interest so I asked what is a better way?

His answer

“Do you want to come to me as a client or as a son?”

Wow! Ok the obvious answer is as a son.

“Then come to my private chambers and put your prayers to me there and we will spend time together.  My Son Jesus will do the intercession for you in the courtroom.”

When I heard this answer it was like a huge weight was lifted of my shoulders.  I had been trying do to things right and to go to the courtroom and present my case.  My Father was telling me if you go to the courtroom then I have to treat you like a client as I am the judge and I am impartial but if you come to Me privately then I can listen and treat you like a son.  You don’t need to oppose the enemy in a courtroom situation as my Son Jesus will do that.

What a relief and doesn’t this sound so natural that this is who our Father is.  There is no rules to follow here there is just a relationship that we can rest in.  We need to be clean and have repented and the Father and the Holy Spirit will give us revelation on any further repentance that is needed.

As we go through a cleansing and move towards freedom our Father can give us so much more and enable us to move in power and authority as we were made to move by Him.

I said to the Lord then have I wasted my time bringing those prayers through the courtroom and that is why it has been hard to get breakthrough.

His answer

“I have heard all your prayers Darren”.

The way he said this was in such a loving way and I understood that he loved me so much that he knew all my prayers.

Philippians 4:6

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Paul is telling us here bring your prayers and supplications to the Father and when you are in that intimate relationship with Him, He will know your prayers.  It then says that the peace will guard your hearts and minds through Jesus Christ.

Why is this the case? Because Jesus is carrying out intercession for us in the courtroom.  He is taking your prayers and supplications, your case, in the courtroom and we couldn’t ask for a better intercessor.  When we truly grab this idea and understand then we can get the peace beyond understanding that is spoken about in this verse.

When Jesus had risen he ascended into heaven and is sitting at the side of the Father.  What does he do?  He intercedes for us.

He argues our case and if we have repented then we are washed in his blood and what an easy case He has.  But we must have repented for all our sins, trespasses and inequities.  When we live in the house of repentance it becomes a very easy court case to be argued as the blood wins every time.

He is a Father

1 Chronicles 17:13

“I will be his Father, and he shall be My son; and I will not take My mercy away from him, as I took it from him who was before you.

He is a Father that wants to give us grace and mercy.  That is what a Father longs to do.

16 Then King David went in and sat before the LORD; and he said: “Who am I, O LORD God? And what is my house, that You have brought me this far

David went and sat before Him which is what we can do.  Go to His private chambers and be intimate. He wants us close.

Daniel 6:20

And when he came to the den, he cried out with a lamenting voice to Daniel. The king spoke, saying to Daniel, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?”

21 Then Daniel said to the king, “O king, live forever!

22 “My God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths, so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him; and also, O king, I have done no wrong before you.”

In this case Daniel had come before the Father and He won because of two things

1) Daniel was innocent he had committed to sin

2) And his witness was he had done no wrong to the king or his superiors

We need to come to the Father and we need to be clean when we come to the Father.

Philippians 2:14

Do all things without complaining and disputing,

15 that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,

We need to be blameless when we come as sons before the Father. To be clean we need to repent before you come to Him.

Jesus does the work for us then with His blood.

Galatians 2:16

“Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.

When I stand before the Father I stand in faith knowing that Jesus has done the work for us and continues to intercede for us.

This is a great position.  Let’s draw near to God and come to Him clean, having repented of sins, trespasses and inequities, and he will hear our prayers and supplications.

When we truly come in this position before Him, He can love us as a Father and won’t He bless us?
