FREEDOM

Vision

Seeing two horses racing across the fields with two riders on their back and the wind blowing the horse manes and a joy and happiness on both the horse and riders faces.

I have had this vision many times particularly at the start of my walk in the Spirit.  I have come to understand and really feel the freedom of the wind blowing through and around me and nothing stopping the ride. This symbolises a freedom that we can experience in the Lord and our walk.

I was asked by the Lord a few weeks ago to share with someone the layers of freedom that I have experienced and been given in my sanctification walk.  The Lord said before doing that to sit back and remember them myself and to get some order around my thoughts.

This year I have seen more freedom given to those we are working with and ministering to which is what the lord told me at the start of the year would occur.  I thought I understood a lot of this but God is showing me more and more of what is available and what is to learn in this area.

Ephesians 3:18

may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height..

He has so much for us we can’t comprehend Him.

Freedom to me is to walk unencumbered by the world whether we are restricted through sin, trauma or iniquity. It is to be fully in the presence of the Lord in the way he called us to be. It is walking in the gifts and power that we are entitled to walk as sons of God.

I would like to share the layers I have experienced (SO FAR!) in the freedom walk.  The Lord also told me the freedom walk is not formulaic but has flexibility about it so we don’t all walk in these same steps the same way.  He however knows the end from the beginning Isaiah 46:10 and if we take the walk he will bring us to the end he has for us.

 

Freedom comes through the Word

Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

God has used the word as a living medicine to bring healing to me and touch the places in my heart that needed opening up and addressing.

He has also used the word as a sword to cut away the areas of sin in my life that were just not acceptable to His presence.

John 8:31

Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.

32 “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

He used the word to bring a layer of freedom in me but I had to allow it to become a living and powerful thing in my life that I abided in.

 

Freedom comes through the Holy Spirit

2 Corinthians 3:17

Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Comes through repentance and transformation which the Spirit brings to life in us.

2 Timothy 1:7

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

The Spirit gives us wisdom and guidance through a sound mind which enables us to walk in freedom in far more circumstances than we ever good before.  Our mind is transformed (Romans 12:2) as the spirit takes us along our walk.

John 8:34

Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.

35 “And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever.

36 “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed

This transformation includes a knowledge of what sin needs addressing in your life.  Your behaviour is transformed.

 

Freedom through deliverance

For me post salvation deliverance was one of the first major steps in my freedom walk.

This involved cutting of and delivery from things that were not of the Lord which include the demonic that I was carrying.

This was a big adjustment in my thinking as I was under the impression that when I was saved that it was all done.  But I wondered why I still had the same things occurring in my life and why they hadn’t gone away.  The process of deliverance was part of the sanctification walk for me and this gave me a new level of freedom as I went through this process.

This deliverance process also included a deep level of repentance of personal sin which enabled me to identify and cut of the enemy from these parts of my life.

 

Freedom through tongues

With deliverance I received the gift of tongues.  This is an example of not being formulaic as you could have this gift without deliverance.  The lord has told me to be in constant prayer and cleansing and tongues is one of the most effective ways to do this.

As I have prayed more and more in tongues I have felt a level of cleansing and with that increased freedom in the Spirit and in Him.  The enemy can’t stand tongues as it is supernatural communication that bypasses Him and enables Gods transforming to occur in us.

Paul said “I pray more in tongues than anyone”.  Not by chance as he knew the power in this and the freedom to complete his tasks that he was being given.

 

Freedom through using and release of the gifts

Romans 11:29 tells us the gifts are irrevocable.  You have been given gifts and they haven’t gone away.  Using these gifts increases the level of freedom we walk in.

It’s like the parable of the talents.  The more we use our gifting’s to help others the more doors He will open and the more freedom we walk in.  There is however a heart attitude with this and that is about using these gifts for His glory not ours.  If your heart isn’t in this place then you are not getting a freedom in this area and I suggest pray and push for a transformed mind here. Al of Him none of us.

As your level of freedom increases the anointing and power also increases.

 

Freedom through Sanctification

The topics on this blog are about the sanctification process.  I challenge you to look and see that there will be at least one topic which is right on topic for the area he is working in you now.  He wants us to address these areas in our walk as He knows unless they are addressed there is a restriction to the level of freedom we walk in.

It is a process of everything that is of me being opened up and surrendered. Area after area has been addressed in my life and with this comes such a freedom.

A position of understanding is that it is all of Him none of me.

 

Freedom through freewill

He allows us freewill choices and in these freewill choices we make mistakes.  In these mistakes we learn and in fact gain a high level of freedom as the mistakes are normally addressing something in us that needs transforming.

We are allowed to make mistakes to learn from particularly in the words received from Him.  We receive words and put our interpretation and our plan in place rather than trusting in Him.  I have done this so often and learnt very quickly the change in me needed.

Trusting in Him to complete the words spoken over us  is such and an area of freedom for us.

 

Freedom through addressing Iniquity

This is wider than just personal sin and repentance.  A number of us are very effective at addressing the personal side of our problems and cleaning ourselves us in this area.

This year he has shown me that iniquity exists in our lives and that addressing this is part of our freedom walk.  He has also shown me this is done well by a number of Christians and this restricts their walk and freedom.

I have personally seen in my family over generations specific issues and traits and occurrences that just keep occurring,  These have occurred in my life even after I was saved and after I had been baptised in the Spirit and I have been cleansed. This was iniquity in my line that needed addressing.

I asked the Lord one night why did the disciples in the upper room receive the Baptism of the Spirit and the Baptism of the fire at the same time whereas I haven’t.

His answer was “You come from pagan lines and you have no idea what has occurred in your lines that needs to be addressed”.

This was something that was totally foreign to what I have been taught previously but over this year he has shown me in my personal life and in some of my ministry work specific examples of this and how to address these things.  He has also taken me to multiple places in the bible to give me scriptural reference in this area.

He said unless these areas were addressed in my life I couldn’t walk in the total freedom he had available to me.

Freedom through addressing Sin and Trauma in your life

The lord has shown me that each of us has levels of sin and trauma to address in our life and it is necessary to address these for total freedom to occur.  We have seen this applied at a deep level this year in our ministry work as he has taught us to address this.

At this point it is a matter of understanding that these areas will be impacting your life and can be addressed.  I will blog on this separately.

 

There are a lot of topics within that are part of the freedom walk and this message is simply touching key areas. It is like an onion with layer after layer being peeled off.

 

Our God is a loving God and He wants us walking in all we can.  He wants us going down the freedom walk so that we can be as we were meant to be on this earth.  On earth as it is in heaven.

 

I encourage you to seek the freedom available to you. In this freedom you can accomplish all.
