MIRROR, MIRROR

What do you see when you look in the mirror?

 

2 Corinthians 3:18

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord

Jesus has enabled us to take the veil from the old self and every day we now get to see the Lord through the word, through the Spirit, through what He is doing in us and around us.

We become one with Him and His glory shines through us.

We get to look in the mirror and He shines.

It is Him coming back in the mirror not us.

We do not lose heart because we know who we see in the mirror.

 

Exodus C26-27

In these chapters are tremendous descriptions of the veil.

The veil was protecting from the holy of holies the light of The Lord which the people couldn’t handle.

Only the high priest could see that.

 

Then taken to 2 Corinthians 4:3

But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,

4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

We have the light in the darkness through Jesus there is no veil for us now.

 

Numbers 6:24

The Lord bless you and keep you;

The lord make His face to shine upon you, And be gracious to you;

The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.

 

When I look in the mirror is it His face shining upon me.  Is it His countenance that upon me. Pray this prayer in the mirror and be blessed. See Him in you.

We have those times in our life when it is tough, real tough and it is in these times we need to know who is looking back at us in the mirror. It is that image that we stand on the image of Him and who He is in us.

 

WHAT SHOULD WE SEE IN THE MIRROR?

2 Corinthians 13:5

Do you know that Jesus Christ is in you?

If He is in us then why shouldn’t it be Him that shines out in that mirror? This is the foundation stone we stand on.  If it is ourselves shining back at ourselves then we will struggle to stand when we need to as we haven’t become one with Him.

When it is the Lord that is shining back then we can trust that He knows the position we find ourselves in, that we have His strength in us and that we have His character to stand in.

2 Corinthians 6:16

And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.”

Powerful verse and one the Lord is really showing me a deepness in at the moment. I have had to walk away from things that I have tried to protect by putting boundaries around them as He has shown me they are idols in my life.

To be a temple of the living God there is a different mind-set required here. A mind of Christ and Him alone no idols.

This mind I believe brings us to a place where we give everything away that is not of Him and we do it at a deep level. This is where the peace is.  This is where we can step up into more of what He wants us walking in.  This is where He shines back at us in the mirror, His Glory

 

I love this quote from Wigglesworth

“Are you ready?

What for?

That God shall be in all and you will lose your identity in the perfection of His glorified purity. You will be lost to everything else except Him.”

 

When I am at this position then I am lost in Him and His image comes back in the mirror to me.

 

You get up in the morning and chances are you will look in that mirror as you wash your face.

Psalm 17:15

I shall be satisfied when I awake in your likeness

Yes I will be satisfied when I know it is His likeness that is reflected in the mirror.

Luke 17:21

Nor will they say. ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”

So the Kingdom of God is within me and I will be satisfied when I wake in His likeness then surely it is an expectation that the mirror of the glory of God shines back at me when I am fully in Him.

 

AN ANSWER

Colossians 2:2-4

Set your mind on things above, not on things of the earth.  For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.  When Christ who is our life appears, then you will appear with him in Glory.

This is now.  When we have surrendered to all and he shines through us then we appear now with him in glory. It is not when he comes back in the future but it is now if we just accept him in all of us.  This is what the world should see through us His glory.

 

ONENESS

1 Corinthians 7:17

But he who is joined to The Lord is one spirit with him.

Acts 17 v 28

He is not far from each one of us for in Him we live and move and have our being…

The heart and mind of the Spirit will bring Him shining through us as a oneness.  Just one image in that mirror Him.

 

OBJECTIVE

Exodus 15:13

You in your mercy have led forth the people whom you have redeemed; You have guided them in Your strength, To Your holy habitation.

This is us. Him in us is a holy habitation. We are the temple.

 Exodus 15:17

He will plant them in the place O Lord which you have made for your own dwelling.  The sanctuary O Lord which your hands have established.

We are the sanctuary when he is fully in us.  He dwells in us. Let us be sinless and open to all of Him in us.

Let His Glory shine in the mirror.

 

Galatians 1:15-16

But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace, to reveal His son in me.

His son is in all of us.  This is our objective to walk and be one with Him and have Him shine through us.

 

Colossians 3:4

When Christ who is our life appears then you also will appear in his glory.

We have become Christ like that he appears.  He is our life.

Take another look in the mirror.  Are we there yet?

 

 

As I finish this word the Lord is giving me a vision.

 I am looking in a lake at clear water and my face is shining back at me.  But as I see His face shining back at me it is like a pebble has been dropped in the water and the ripples spread out.

 “Now son when you are in the likeness of me you will ripple through all the earth as my presence will be undeniable in all that you do and accomplish.  I will impact the earth through my children and every child is called to walk like this.  Be strong and push into all that I have for you.”

 

Let us awake in His likeness.
