A term used several times through the bible. The Holy Spirit has used this term to widen my views on some of the teaching I have had over the years.
Revelation 3:15
“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot.
16 “So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.
17 “Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked—
18 “I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.
19 “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.
20 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
21 “To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
22 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ‘ ”
Now in verse 18 above it talks about the white garments. Why? I believe we find out later on in Revelation.
Revelation 7:13
Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, “Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?”
14 And I said to him, “Sir, you know.” So he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
15 “Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them.
16 “They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat;
17 “for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
Is this something that will happen when a great tribulation occurs? Or is something that we go through now? My traditional understanding is that this happens at some point in the future when a great tribulation occurs. I am being shown another level of this verse. I believe we have a spirit man in heaven and that when we come through tribulation here on earth and stand in the Lord then we wear the white robes in our spirit man. This enables us to walk in more authority in the spirit and this is necessary to enable us to walk in more authority here. On earth as it is in heaven. It must be done in the spirit first to enable it to happen on earth.
When we wear white robes there is no darkness and therefore no room for the accuser to come against us when we petition the Father.
Ecclesiastes 9:8 NKJV
“Let your garments always be white, And let your head lack no oil.”
Daniel 11:35
“And some of those of understanding shall fall, to refine them, purify them, and make them white, until the time of the end; because it is still for the appointed time.
Wow so consistent with revelation chapters 3 & 7 and with 1 Peter 5 :10.
But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
Settle us. Transform us. Put us through the necessary tribulation so that we can wear the white robes. Tribulation purifies us and brings us to the clean state the Lord desires to have us in.
But as stated in Revelation earlier He will vomit us out. Why because He doesn’t want us going from couch to couch in comfort. He wants us to go through tribulation and come out the other side wearing white robes. Because we can only wear the white robes when we are one with Him having been through the fire. At this point we will not feel the hunger or thirst because we are one with Him in a peace beyond understanding.
This is a state to achieve now. This is a foundational state to come from. Christ shining from us.
Don’t think this is all something that happens at some future point or when we go home to heaven. We rob ourselves of what we can be here now if we take this line of thinking. Thy kingdom come.
Luke 17 v21
Nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or “See there!’ For indeed the Kingdom of God is within you.
Daniel 12
10 “Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand.
Lord let me wear the white robes.
